“Writing for Muslim Media”

This five-session course is intended to serve as an introduction to writing for Muslim (and/or mainstream) media for persons considering or seeking to pursue a career in journalism, reporting, television/radio broadcasting, film production, freelance writing, or book publication, as well as individuals merely interested in freelancing and/or volunteering for a Muslim publisher or producer.
Its hands-on approach will assist participants in cultivating their communication skills, and familiarizing them with the process of identifying and exploring writing opportunities with Muslim publications; television and radio broadcasters, and film producers. Each two-hour session will feature a guest speaker (on-site or through teleconferencing) in the fields of journalism, broadcasting, freelancing, or book writing and publishing.
Participants will also be entitled to a 30- minute private consultation and coaching session with the instructor, Amina Cisse Muhammad, who is founder of Keys to Power Editorial Services and Success Coaching and a freelance writer for numerous Muslim print and online publications.
Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm
