INTRODUCTION TO ARABIC LANGUAGE

No Arabic knowledge is required

  

This course aims to give students with no previous Arabic a basic Knowledge of the language. It also introduces the Arabic alphabet and the basic structure of the written form of standard modern Arabic, and aims to develop all the fundamental language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.

We use two books for the course:
 the “Graded Steps” is an excellent book for learning the Arabic alphabet
“Ahlan wa Sahlan” is the most commonly used Arabic language text book in US Universities

Objectives:

After completion of the course, students should be able to:  
- Expand their knowledge of Arabic alphabet

- Develop their grasp of Arabic alphabet
- Enhance their oral communication
- Use complex sentence structures
- Develop vocabulary
- Understand the structure of Arabic.

Courses are offered at:

Two sessions a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays

First class will start Tuesday January 04, 2011 and ends on May 4, 2011
